VERSEDAY: Bringing Creators’ Stories to Life Through Media Art

What if a story could become a work of art—and give someone a moment to remember? VERSEDAY is a media art production company that transforms the stories of diverse creators into visual experiences. Its name reimagines the word “birthday,” replacing “birth” with “verse,” a word associated with poetry. The name reflects the company’s aspiration to bring art shaped by creators’ stories into the world, offering audiences moments as special and memorable as a birthday.

Media Art That Brings Creative Imagination to Life and Connects It with the World

VERSEDAY’s work goes beyond creating visually compelling imagery. The company focuses on translating artists’ ideas into media art and expanding the opportunities for their work to reach wider audiences. Its business model encompasses two core areas.

1. Collaborative Media Art IP Development and End-to-End Services

Artists working in traditional media, such as painting and sculpture, often face challenges when seeking to expand their work into digital formats. VERSEDAY carefully reinterprets each artist’s distinctive creative vision through media art, developing original intellectual property (IP). It also provides end-to-end services spanning planning, production, distribution, and sales in Korea and abroad. Through this support, the company helps artists establish a presence in the media art market and reach new international audiences and buyers.

2. A Sustainable Arts Business Built on Shared Revenue

VERSEDAY brings newly developed media art IP to global markets through exhibitions, performances, advertising, and other channels. Revenue generated through these activities is shared transparently with creators, helping them build a more stable foundation for their next creative endeavors.

Transforming Everyday Spaces into Extraordinary Settings for Art Through Light and Moving Images

Through collaborations with creators across disciplines, VERSEDAY has continued to expand both the expressive possibilities of media art and the spaces in which it can be experienced. From original productions that bring together art, science, and music to monumental urban façades, its projects explore new possibilities for the medium.

Creating New Experiences at the Intersection of Art and Science

Launched in 2023, THE ORIGIN was VERSEDAY’s first media art IP project conceived and produced in-house. Bringing together specialists from different fields—including Seoul National University professor and artist JE BAAK, musician OHHYUK and researchers from the university’s Department of Physics and Astronomy—the project transformed scientific principles into artistic experiences that audiences could engage with intuitively. Through moving images, music, and interactive installations, THE ORIGIN explored complex scientific concepts such as Newton’s laws of motion and Einstein’s theories of space and time. Beginning at Seoul National University in 2023, the project went on to meet audiences in a variety of settings, including the Gwacheon National Science Museum and SFactory in Seongsu-dong.

Turning Monumental Urban Architecture into a Canvas for Media Art

From 2024 to 2026, VERSEDAY has participated consistently in Seoul Light DDP, the large-scale light festival held at Dongdaemun Design Plaza, demonstrating its capabilities in producing media art for expansive architectural façades. Its projects have brought the work of pioneering Korean abstract artist KIM Whanki to DDP, alongside collaborations with a diverse range of creators, including Tikitaka Booboo, Joguman Studio, Sunwoo Kim, JE BAAK, Jean Jullien, and AG. Each project has translated distinctive artistic expressions and stories into large-scale media art across DDP’s exterior. By connecting works with different creative identities into a continuous media art experience, VERSEDAY has demonstrated how urban architecture can become a vast canvas for sharing art with the public.

Reinterpreting a Master’s Artistic World Through Immersive Media Art

In 2026, VERSEDAY presented Poetry of Time: PART II at the Whanki Museum, an immersive media artwork that reinterpreted the artistic world of KIM Whanki through a contemporary sensibility and digital technology. Created in collaboration with artist JE BAAK using projection mapping, the work revisited KIM’s oeuvre in reverse chronological order, visualizing a process in which a single dot multiplied into countless others, forming connections along the way. By translating KIM’s reflections on time, relationships, and the universe into a new sensory experience, the work invited audiences to encounter the many layers of his artistic world.

Looking Toward a Future Where Art and Technology Help More Creators Shine

By introducing technology and new forms of expression to artists’ distinctive creative worlds, VERSEDAY creates opportunities for audiences to encounter their work in diverse spaces. As the company continues to connect art and technology, it opens new paths for creators’ stories to become artistic experiences and reach wider audiences. We look forward to following VERSEDAY’s journey as it brings the anticipation of a birthday—and moments of lasting wonder—to everyday life.
